JEWEL OF THE BALEARS

Mallorcas beautiful calas and amazing views represent a jewel in mid mediterranean ocean. You can get there in a quick plane trip of 1 hour and a half from Madrid. Go euro web or app gives you different options.

I strongly suggest of getting a car around. You can find sunny weather until late october, but make sure to check the weather forecast before going or you should take an umbrella with you.

I strongly suggest staying at a hostel or hotel close to the city, usually from there you can reach every part of the island in less than an hour, leaving early in the morning and returning in the evening to sleep. Unless you want to sleep on a boat which is an amazing experience and you can get them at reasonable prices with the app "airbnb" in several beaches. Much cheaper than those they offer at the ports.

The typical online website will take you to the public calas but I strongly suggest these among all:

  • CAL DO FORMENTOR: At least stay one day there in this fancy hotel with amazing beaches NORTHERN PART OF THE ISLAND
  • CALA S'ALMUNIA & CALÓ DES MORO: Two of the most amazing calas ever, hiking a little you'll have access to both. Caló des moro might be less crowded, but they are both amazing. Watch out for medusas and bring with you some hydrocortisone in cream.
  • PORTAL VELLS: Drive there, walk a little less than 0. 5km and you get to a nudist beach with a restaurant called "Cala del Mago". After that, a little less than half km away, there is another amazing cala with a wonderful view and some caves you can explore.

  • DEIA: lovely town, great place to go during the sunset. Look for "SA FORCADA", it's a high place to see the best sunset you'll see ever. There is a restaurant full of people with a background of opera music (yes, a little cheesy), but it was a magical moment.

  • PORT DE SOLLER: Its a regular port, but if you want to enjoy beaches, honestly not worth it unless you want a boat ride or take a private charter.
  • CALOBRA TORRENT DE PAREIS: WOW WOW AND WOW.
  • CALA MOLINS IN CALA DE SANT VICENC: Is one of the nicest places! Perfect to bath without jelly fish. Spend there at least a full day (oh and bring lunch with you! No restaurants around! ).
  • CALA LLOMBARDS: Large beach not really amazing.
