Desert Rocks Indoor Climbing Gym

Desert Rocks is such a fun place to go. You can go alone or with friends or anyone! This place is great for a family or friend outing. Once you get there you can either pay for a day pass or monthly or yearly, however long you want. These all include harness and shoe rental.

The place is not that big but the walk walls are very high! There are a couple of sections in this building so when you walk in there is a area to the left that has a smaller rock wall with some automatic belays. This is fun and also easy because you don’t need someone to belay you, its automatic so if you come alone you can do these all day long! There are also normal ropes and belays where you need assistance as well. In the other larger room there are two types of rock walls: one where you use a harness and the other one is for bouldering. Bouldering is where you kind of start off, you practice climbing and get your forearms warmed up.

When bouldering you don’t use a harness, but don’t worry the rock wall is not that high. They also have paddings on the floor incase you fall. I like the bouldering better because you use all your strength and there’s also different ways to travel. They have different paths set up so that you know which one you are on and which ones are the hardest.

The bouldering is fun to practice on if you go for more than a day because you can build up strength here. You can also do tricks on the bouldering walls, which are fun and fun to try to do them until you get good enough to actually do it! On the other walk walls you just go up and down so sometimes its fun to change it up on the bouldering and do different things.

I love to go here and practice and I always spend three or more hours here because it’s so fun I forget about the time!
