How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

5 months Erasmus study, approx 2000 euros.

What is the student lifestyle like in Palermo?

Student lifestyle is very very very laid back, you're not really expected to attend lectures just pass the courses.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Palermo to other students?

The city itself is nice and the beach (although a 30 min bus ride away)is a nice. The university however is a complete shambles. They say it's just the Italian way but it's horrendously unorganized; you'll be making your own timetable, having no support from coordinators and lectures will turn up 45 minutes late on a regular basis. Awful university.

Good street food but also good restaurants are available.

No.

I pay 320 euros with bills in a big, nice, modern flat. This is considered expensive, average 200 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

If you have prior knowledge it's not difficult. Free language course is available for Erasmus students.

Lulu Pub, Pink Code, Black Hole and Vucciria market.

Fida does the best pizza in the city.

Teatro Massimo, Poletiama.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Palermo in the future?

If you want a good university don't even bother coming here. The city and people are good though!
