I wanted to improve my italian and I'm interested in Arabic culture.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

5 months, 400€/month.

What is the food like?

Very tasty, wonderful seafood.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Palermo?

No, it was easy.

How much does it cost to live in Palermo?

It depends on accomodation and food (there is cheap cantina for students).

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Italian is easy, I passed all my exams in italian. There is a language school for foreigners.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Palermo from your city?

It's hard to get there from my city. But travelling by plane is the best way.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Palermo?

Ballarò or Vucciria.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Palermo?

Vino e pomodro, Focacceria San Francesco and Ferro di Cavallo.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Palermo in the future?

Rent a room close to Ballarò, most of Erasmus students live in this zone. Check where is your faculty and find a flat next to it.
