Why did you choose to go to Palermo, Italy?
Because of the weather, life quality, landscapes and history of the place.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It was 9 month long. I got a reasonable amount of money to live in a place like Palermo (as it is not a very expensive zone).
What is the student lifestyle like in Palermo?
Very active and cheerful.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Palermo to other students?
Definitely.
What is the food like?
Sicily and Italy concretely, is kown as one of the best places where the food is really good, so that was not a disapointment at all.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Palermo?
Yes, it was not easy, but eventually you find out that there so much helpful people.
How much does it cost to live in Palermo?
As I come from the north, the living quality is way more cheap so with 250 euros a month you have more than enough to survive.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
If you come from a latin language it is easy to learn italian, and there are also language courses available everywhere.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Palermo from your city?
Airplane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Palermo?
Ballarò and Vucciria.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Palermo?
Any place in Ballarò and between Politeama and Teatro Massimo.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Segesta, valle di Templi (Agrigento), Catania, Siracusa, Isole Eolie, Trapani.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Palermo in the future?
To go with an open mind and not to be afraid of the amount of changes and madness that you are going to find when you arrive in the city.
