Why did you choose to go to Palermo, Italy?

I'm doing an internship here and I always dream to visit Sicily!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I'm not studying here. My internship is for 4 months. I received 1000€ and it can just afford me to pay my rent for my apartment.

What is the student lifestyle like in Palermo?

I don't really know. There are a lot of places to hang out. And People here are really nice!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Palermo to other students?

What is the food like?

Good, and not expensive at all.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Palermo?

No, the place where I'm doing my internship helped me to find it.

How much does it cost to live in Palermo?

I can't answer to it. For my apartment, I'm paying 300€ per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Italian is similar to french so I can understand when someone is talking to me. But I still have some language issues.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Palermo from your city?

I took a flight and it was not cheap at all.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Palermo?

Piazza sant'Anna, la Vucciria, near teatro Massimo. You can find a place to go out everywhere in the city centre.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Palermo?

Bisso Bistrot is a really good restaurant (at Quattro Canti), Kus-Kus near via Dante.. There is everything for everyone.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

My internship is in a tourist information point so I visited a lot of places as the catacombes, Palazzo Branciforte, Palazzo Steri, il Giardino Inglese, il Palazzo Reale, la Zisa, mondello.. Also the cities: Cefalu, Agrigento, Monreale, Sciacca.

And I'm going to visit Etna and Catania, Trapani, Erice, Marsala, Favignana, Stromboli and others eolian islands, Taormina, Siracusa and Ragusa, Terrasini and Cinisi... There are so many stuff to see.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Palermo in the future?

Don't come with some premade ideas about Sicily, you will be surprised about the kindness of sicilian people and the beauty of this island.
