Why did you choose to go to Oulu, Finland?

Because i love northern countries

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scolarship is 5 months long. I received 1400 euro in total.

What is the student lifestyle like in Oulu?

Very nice. Work and free time is balanced

Would you recommend the city and the University of Oulu to other students?

Yes, I would.

What is the food like?

Not that good.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Oulu?

I found it with a private agency

How much does it cost to live in Oulu?

Shopping and transportation are the most expensive costs.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The courses were in english, finnish is very hard to learn but here everyone speaks english.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Oulu from your city?

By plane and then by bus

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Oulu?

There are several nice clubs in the center (Tivoli, Kaarle).

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Oulu?

Harald is a typical scandinavian restaurant. Best pizza is sold at "Da Mario"

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are several interesting place around the city, especially for the landscape.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Oulu in the future?

Get a good coat.
