Why did you choose to go to Oulu, Finland?

I love scandinavia and the northern cultures. Also because of the good univeristy

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

4 months, I received 12,5 euro's a day. After paying my room I had monthly 40 euro's left.

What is the student lifestyle like in Oulu?

Depents on your mindset. There are weekly student organised parties or other fun activities.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Oulu?

I paid 310 euro's, everything included. Around the start of April the Psoas applications open, be sure to applicate as fast as possible!

How much does it cost to live in Oulu?

I think it is similar to Belgium, except from the alcohol prices of course.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Oulu from your city?

Easiest is by far a car, this is however expensive to hire... The busses and train have descend prices.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Oulu?

Yes, but for weekly party it becomes quite expensive; 5 euro entrance, 3 euro wardrobe, 6-8 euro beers. Best parties for me were in the psoas bindings or student houses.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Oulu in the future?

I think you really should be able to appreciate the nature and climate of Finland. You shouldn't go to Oulu for the parties, although they can be fun! Make trips and try get out of Oulu during the weekend, otherwise you will get easily bored.
