Why did you choose to go to Oulu, Finland?

Curiosity about Scandinavian Culture and Finnish Culture. I didn't choose the city 'Oulu' on purpose. Oulu was my only option in Finland according to Bilateral Agreements in my school.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

3. 5 months. Monthly 500 euros.

What is the student lifestyle like in Oulu?

Calm, confortable.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Oulu to other students?

Nope, it's too cold and icy.

What is the food like?

I have some rough time to getting used to it at the beginning. But some time later I get used to it. And now I am in love with Finnish food. Especially 'Pulla's - any kind of pullas.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Oulu?

Nope.

How much does it cost to live in Oulu?

I am staying in shared-flat with a person. It costs me approximately 250 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Finnish language course opened after a while. Like end of the September...

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Oulu from your city?

Plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Oulu?

• Special45 - for cheap alcohol before 9pm.
• Tivoli - for typical Erasmus parties.

Cultural Centre Valve. I am not sure but this is the only Student friendly restaurant in city center.
