There are parties every day, you can meet people from all over the world, make great friendships and travel a lot.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ostrava to other students?

The city has good and bad points, but if you sum all of them it's more positive than negative. The negative it's the pollution of the city, also it's not very cultural when compared with other cities (like Prague, Brno, Olomouc) and the most part of the people don't speak English. But I think it may be difficult for you to find a Erasmus spirit in another place that is as good as it is here.

What is the food like?

In restaurants you always can find these typical dishes:

• Guláš — a stew usually made from beef, pork or game with onions and spices.
• Roast pork with dumplings and cabbage.

How much does it cost to live in Ostrava?

Depends of your own lifestyle, maybe 150 euros just for food.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ostrava?

I recommend Wednesdays in Vrtule Club (campus of VSB), Fridays in Stodolni (street in the city center with a lot of bars) and Saturdays in Alexandria LOĎ.
