What is it like to live in Nitra? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Nitra is a beautiful city. It is a very green city with beautiful nature and it is lying between two hills (Zobor and Calvaria). It is excellent for students because it is student city. There are two great Universities, lot of possibilities and lot of parties. You can go for a walk, for a run, to the cinema or just to sit in a bar. You can choose based on your mood.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nitra?

Student lifestyle is great in Nitra. Faculties are on the same place, everything is close. Lot of students and international students are in Nitra. We have lot of possibilities in school. It is not a big place so you can easily meet lot of students. We have student parties during the week.

How much does it cost to live in Nitra?

Average is 350 €. Sometimes you can spend less, sometimes more.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nitra? Is there any advice you can give?

It is easy to find accommodation. We have lot of dorms not only for students, but other people too. You can also find a flat if you prefer.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

We have big choice of food. Slovak, Chinese, standard food. You can eat in the student canteen, in a restaurant or in a fast food place. I like eating in Panda, it is Chinese buffet, also in the shopping centre, or ordering a lunch menu in a restaurant or in the canteen.

What places would you recommend visiting in Nitra?

The castle, Mlyny (a shopping centre) and its cinemas, walk along the river, Laser arena, Calvaria viewpoint, Zobor mountain, Stredoveka Taverna (a bar from the Middle Age), Epicure (a tearoom),...

Is it good to eat out in Nitra? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is good. I'd recommend Stara Kotolna, Muzeum, Hoffer...

Is the nightlife good in Nitra? Where is good to go?

It is excellent.

• Clubs: Rio, Devils and Baracuda.
• Bars: Queens, Epicure, Stredoveka Taverna and Mostna Pub (it is a student bar/club).

What advice would you give future students heading to Nitra?

Come to Nitra. The city is beautiful, alive. You will enjoy your time here. Nightlife is really good, students parties even better. You have a lot of possibilities of what to do, where to go...
