Beach Life, Pt. 1

The Best Things to Do in Newport Beach, CA

Newport is bustling with life. It's a quiet, peaceful city great for trying new foods, swimming, or shopping with friends.

CORONA DEL MAR

Corona del Mar is the cutest town in Newport Beach. It has 3 gorgeous beaches: Big Corona, Little Corona, and Crystal Cove. Here, you can boogey-board, tan, eat, and drink. *Note: Not all beaches mentioned sell food or drinks, so be sure to pack something if you plan on staying for a long time. If busy beaches aren't your scene, be sure to check out China's Cove- the perfect place for relaxing on the sand or splashing in the seemingly waveless shores.

Another great place to hang out in a very kid-friendly (and [adventurous] adult-friendly) is Newport Dunes. Open in the summer, here, you can play in the bay's gigantic floating obstacle courses or go paddle boarding (both cost money). Don't miss out on this great place!

If you prefer hiking and running, go to the Back Bay. Located extremely near to the local high school, you can be sure that the driving in the Eastbluff Neighborhood will be safe and cautious. Be sure to heed attention to local bicyclists.

My favorite place is Fashion Island. There are so many great shops there (most are a bit expensive, but they are definitely chic & high-quality) and amazing restaurants. You can find anything from snack foods to gourmet dinners and chain stores to cute boutiques. *Tip: The tickets at the Edwards across the street from Barnes & Nobles are cheaper than the tickets located inside the theater in Fashion Island.

Be sure to walk down Corona del Mar's share of Pacific Coast Highway. If you didn't find the food you were looking for at Fashion Island, you'll find it here.

I highly reccommend taking kids to either Grant Howald Park or Irvine Terrace Park.

Don't miss out on the Newport Beach  Public Libary. Besides the gorgeous array of all sorts of books, there is a cafe, a computer lab, and a garden where tourists can go for walks. Located in the same area as the entranec to the library is a small shopping mall.

I hope you enjoy Corona del Mar, Newport Beach, CA :)
