I was very clear that the country where I was going to do my Erasmus exchange was England. Once I had decided this, I began researching the options that my university offered, and Newcastle ended up being the place that caught my attention most, not only for the prestige that the university has specifically for my degree, but also for the student experience.

What is the language like? Did you go to any language classes at the university?

In the beginning, it's difficult to get used to the famous Geordie accent, but it's nothing that asking a couple of questions can't fix. Besides, there are lots of people from other countries who you can understand perfectly.

I didn't go to any language classes at the university, but if I am not mistaken, they give you the opportunity to enrol in several different classes throughout the year.

What is the cheapest way of getting to Newcastle Upon Tyne from your city?

Personally, I preferred to take direct flights, so, in order to do so, I travelled to Malaga and flew directly to Newcastle with EasyJet.

One of the strong points that Newcastle has in its favour, without a doubt, is the nightlife. Here, the nightclubs open every single day of the week, and each of them organises parties with different themes. Staying at home and having a house party is also an option. Besides, the majority of the well-known nightclubs are situated quite close to one another.

Without a shadow of a doubt, I would personally recommend Perdu (which also usually has free entry) and TigerTiger.
