I would recommend life in Newcastle, the city is the perfect size and it has a lot to offer. Definitely the best city in the north of England!
What is the student lifestyle like in Newcastle Upon Tyne?
Newcastle is the perfect city for students as the Universities (Newcastle University and Northumbria University) are right in the middle of the city. It is easy to meet other students and there is always a lot to do.
How much does it cost to live in Newcastle Upon Tyne?
Living costs obviously depend on the proximity to the centre of the city. It can be expensive (£600 a month) in the centre, whereas slightly further out the prices could drop to (£200-£300 a month). The distance is no problem as the transport is excellent inside the city (metro, buses, taxis).
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Newcastle Upon Tyne? Is there any advice you can give?

The food is good, although it can be expensive if you are not careful.
What places would you recommend visiting in Newcastle Upon Tyne?
The Quayside at Newcastle is beautiful and relaxing with cafes and restaurants all the way along. Or you head over to St James Park for the football.
Newcastle has a good train station too for excursions to other parts of the country!
Is it good to eat out in Newcastle Upon Tyne? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Food is good. There is a range of different types of food with Spanish Tapas, Indian Curry Houses, Italian, American and, of course, English Pub Grub including fish and chips. The Gate complex has around 6-7 different restaurants to choose from.
What advice would you give future students heading to Newcastle Upon Tyne?
Take full advantage of all that this wonderful city has to offer!
