New Zealand: Christchurch and Akaroa

If the roads of the life take you all the way to New Zealand, make sure to make a stop in beautiful Christchurch and Akaroa. The landscapes my eyes have never seen before are still embedded deep in my mind. These shades of blue and green in perfect transition create images that are best captured only with your eyes. No camera can actually reproduce its exact beauty, no matter how good it is.

I took the cable car  named Christchurch Gondola all the way up to the hill. Once again, if you are airline crew, make sure to bring along your airline ID to get a better price. Up there you have a bar and the observation deck. Make sure to bring a jacket as the wind is quite strong even when the weather is sunny and it seems to be all right in temperature. The view is breathtaking and it met my expectations. It even went above them.

The next day the group of us headed to Akaroa. It is a small fishing village, cute with small houses and nice and kind locals. We followed the road all the way up in the mountains where the view of cliffs and the bays is beyond spectacular. The noises of the waves smashing onto the cliffs were ideal if you want to record meditation music. We followed a narrow path next to one of the cliffs where we could see a family of seals saluting us with their game.

If you are from Europe, the trip to New Zealand may cost a fortune. I assure you though, the memories you will bring from it are so worth it. They will surely turn into the stories you will be telling your grandchildren one day.
