Which associations do you have with the word “metropolitan”?

For megapolis habitants like me it’s definitely not the best. The worst relation which comes in mind is a rush hour which happens every weekday morning and evening in Saint-Petersburg and Moscow. On the other hand, there are so many stations famous for its art and beauty.

Metro arts in Naples

Naples also has the reason to be proud, because some years ago local metro was recognized as the most beautiful in whole Europe! On the photo you can see the picturesque central metro station called Toledo. Some tourists even go down just to see the internal glory without taking any train! Decorations of Toledo station imitate atmosphere of the sea world, bright underwater caves made from the blue mosaic. The project was realized by the Catalan designer Oscar Tusquerts Blanca.

Other stations also have their personal design and charm, my advice is to visit all the stations in the center of Naples to enjoy it: Universita’, Garibaldi, Dante, Museo.
