Christmas Celebrations
The next day it was time for presents. Because my Mum and my Dad aren't living together I had to get up early to have lunch with my Mum and go to my Dad afterwards. Fortunately they are living in the same village. So I got up and had a short breakfast with my Mum - I also received some presents but as it is when you grow older, you already know them because your parents ask you what you want to have. So I just found what I had told my Mum to order when I had still been to Tenerife. My Mum even had bought a small and very cute christmas tree - just for me! It was amazing and it was the first time since my Dad had left our house that she had prepared a Christmas tree. I really appreciated that. After the presents my Mum continued to prepare the Christmas lunch for me - roast goose. I hadn't eaten traditiona German food for such a long time, because when I had come home from France in June it had been too warm to eat heavy things like that, so it was almost one year ago. So I was more than happy when I was sitting in the kitchen with my Mum and we were enjoying our lunch. It was delicious!
But after lunch I had to leave, because I would spend the rest of the day with my Dad and his girlfriend. It was always very stressful around Christmas, but this time even more, because I had to go to my apartment in another city to get some warm clothes and had to bring my things from Mum to Dad, from Dad to Mum etc. Furthermore, my car wasn't registered for the two weeks I was visiting Germany, so I had to use my Mum's car and she needed it at certain times. I had to plan so many things that my head hurt. My friends also asked when I had time to meet and it became more and more complicated. But for the moment I just drove to my Dad and was happy to see him again after 2,5 months. We were talking about everything, as always, and eating some cake in the afternoon. For the rest of the day everything was about trying the clothes I had ordered via internet - I had bought a wonderful dress for the New Year's Eve Gala I would attend with my Dad and some others and it really fit! I loved it, it was a long, black dress and it hid perfectly the kilos I had gained during my time in France and Tenerife. After having tried all the clothes, we had another christmas dinner which was delicious, too. Christmas was always about eating and eating and eating and that was the first time I only enjoyed it. I was just so happy to be back to Germany for some days that I almost forgot about all the stress and the money it had cost me. Sometimes it was just important to be with the right people at the right place and time and that's what it was that day. The rest of the day we passed watching children's movies at TV and talking about organizational things. On Monday I would go shopping a bit with Dad's girlfriend to find a suitable bra for the dress etc. I really needed some shopping, the offer in Tenerife wasn't the best and I had a problem with the sizes - everything was smaller than in Germany and it was hard to find my size in the stores. So it was just a perfect and relaxing first day with my family in Germany.
As always, it was a problem to decide about the time I was visiting Mum and the time I was visiting Dad, because my Mum was jealous almost every day. So I returned to her the next day in order to pass the Sunday with her. There was nothing we could do, so we just watched TV, I downloaded some things with my laptop - I was happy to have wifi after 5 months without any internet in my apartment, and had some sweets etc. I also thought about what to buy, what I needed for Tenerife and what I would leave in Germany. The eternal question about the luggage and the weight was annoying and I didn't want to think about my luggage on my second day. So I just forgot it for some time and enjoyed to relax and not having to do anything. The next day I wanted to meet my best friend in the afternoon, but before, I went shopping with Dad's girlfriend. We found some nice bras and similar things, and my Dad had given me some money to buy it. I also found some new warm boots - I had already seen them in the internet before, but now they were in Sales and I could buy them. It was nice to find things in my size again, and even nicer to have warm shoes - the weather was becoming colder and colder, and I had brought all my clothes to my apartment already, because when I had arrived it wasn't that cold actually. But it had decided to change, so I had to get back to my appartment again and take some warm clothes with me. I also needed underwear, sleeping clothes and other clothes for the next days. And some shoes for the New Year's Gala. So after shopping I went to my apartment again, found all the things, and went back to see my best friend. I was happy to see her again after 5 months and we had a lot to talk about! So we just sat down and talked for the first 2 hours. Then, we decided to have something to eat and go a bit into the city centre together. We went to the new all you can eat restaurant because she had always told me how great it was and I hadn't managed to get there, because I had been abroad all the time since it had opened.
After having eaten much too many things we could hardly move, so we decided to go to a shisha bar for one or two hours to finish that day. I hadn't smoked a shisha since January, so I was a bit excited. I loved sitting in cafés like that, and just relax and talk about life and problems and everything. So we stayed there for a while, had a tea and a shisha and talked. But as she was a bit ill and I had to call my Dad to come and pick me up (no car was really annoying), we finally left the café and went to her house, where I called my Dad to pick me up. I couldn't believe that I had to say goodbye to my best friend already and that already two days of my nine days in Germany had passed. In the beautiful times, time was rushing and I didn't like that. I wanted to finish that internship, but I also wanted to stay in Germany and never go back. The next day I would meet another friend of mine to talk a bit and have dinner, and then there were only two days left in that year 2015. I was a bit excited about that New Year's Eve Gala - I loved my dress and couldn't wait to show it to everyone!
