It was by chance that we came across this restaurant but we left very happy, hoping they open more chains in Mexico.

Description

Muncher House is located on the second floor of Monterrey square. The square has a famous view 'Cerro de la Silla', a well known emblem of the city. I recommend that you arrive later to Muncher House (it's open from 1pm-1am) as its a very good restaurant and it gets booked up very fast.

When we wanted to sit, they attended to us very quickly; the waiters are also very friendly, they recommend dishes that you might fancy. There is a lot on the menu, I believe that their burgers are the best, as they have lots of choice and sizes to suit everyone.

Food description

When you order a burger, you can choose to have it with salad (very delicious, mine came with a strawberry dressing! ) or some french fries. They are not normal fries that you can get in any restaurant, they are seasoned and cooked in a way that gives them a very special flavour.

The burger comes presented on a board to make it easier to cut the food and the burger bun has the Muncher House logo marked on it which is very original. The meat is special and tastes delicious; they also put a delicious cheese dressing on it (depending on the order). A piece of corn also comes with the meal which is flavoured with delicious spices as well.

Drinks such as water and lemonade etc. are refillable. Mine was strawberry with a hint of rose. The drinks came with a rose petal that was in the cup; this was glass and very original. I should also add that the food was ready very quickly.

Another strong point is the desserts that they have, you aren't going to find just a typical chocolate dessert and nothing else. We ordered an orange cake with a hint of mint, the decoration was different as the plate presentation is important to them. It's a shame that I didn't take a photo. They support the craft beer trade, above all the produce in Mexico. This is why you find several brands that sell craft beer, originating in Mexico and Nuevo Leon. Some of these are from the 'Albur' brand which has three main beers and each name has a double meaning. 'La Avenida', 'La Mano Pachona', and 'La Chalupa'.

Design

The restaurant is very well decorated. The walls are brick and the tables are wood. They play good music such as rock indie. The toilets are very original, the women's have a strong rose scent with a wooden print and when you close the door you can hear bird, forest and water sounds on the speakers. Together with the forest theme and the smell of roses, you really feel as though you are in one!

Recommendations

This restaurant was a lovely experience, you'll feel that a gourmet meal was worth the price and you will definitely want to come back.
