Monrovia is a small city. The people are friendly, welcoming and willing to help strangers. The weather is hot most of the time, with the current climate change, you can't be sure about raining season and dry season. Above all, Monrovia is a good place to be and it won't take you long to adjust.
What is the student lifestyle like in Monrovia?
Unlike most countries, the universities in Monrovia do not have hostels so most students have at home and come commute to school everyday while few rent apartments near the campus and walk to school.
How much does it cost to live in Monrovia?
With the current economic situation, life in Monrovia is expensive. A full day's meal will cost not less than US $5.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Monrovia? Is there any advice you can give?
Finding accommodation in Monrovia isn't that difficult if you have the money. If you want an accommodation that has current and water, it won't be less than US $1,000 a month. For other accommodation that don't have current and water you can find that for as low as US $150 per month.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is not difficult to find. You can find whatever you want, from vegetables, to European dishes to African dishes. Our stable food here is rice; we prepare it with vegetable.
What places would you recommend visiting in Monrovia?
The beaches are awesome; you won't want to leave them, especially when there is a live band. If you are a night person like me, you wouldn't want to miss Eglers on weekend.
Is it good to eat out in Monrovia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Eating out depends on the kind of food that you will want. If you prefer a continental dish, you can try Eglers, Fuzion, Saaj, Royal Grand, Blvd palace, etc. If you want to eat our local food Evelyn restaurant will never fail you.
Is the nightlife good in Monrovia? Where is good to go?
Nightlife?!!!! Its so awesome. But, it depends on the area you are, if you are in the wrong place, you will be at high risk.
What advice would you give future students heading to Monrovia?
Get an accommodation close to your University so that you cannot have problem with transportation.
