What is it like to live in Monrovia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Monrovia is a small city of 1million inhabitants and it has an area of 75.00 sq.mile(194.25km2).

Monrovia is a bit noisy and busy city. Not so modern architecture but mid age architecture. Monrovia dwellers are some of the most polite and helpful people in the world according to 2019 survey.

What is the student lifestyle like in Monrovia?

Student life in Monrovia is nice with lots of hang out area. Not many research places but the campuses are nice and most universities are now engaging in E-learning.

How much does it cost to live in Monrovia?

Accommodation isn't expensive in Monrovia but food is a bit expensive.

But in reality its possible to set monthly expenditure between $175-200.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Monrovia? Is there any advice you can give?

Not difficult to find accommodation in Monrovia. The city is facing the Atlantic Ocean directly, so you can find apartments by the beach.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

We eat lots of rice in Liberia and pounded cassava called figure.

The perfect dish will be palm soup with fufu/rice.

What places would you recommend visiting in Monrovia?

Ducor palace the first 5star hotel built in Africa and the providence island where the first freed slaves from the USA settle and the beaches and resorts in Sinkor.

Is it good to eat out in Monrovia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes its good to eat out.

Royal hotel and Diana restaurant are my best but of course there're more good restaurants in Monrovia.

Is the nightlife good in Monrovia? Where is good to go?

Yes! Nightlife in Monrovia is super cool.

Royal Hotel Skybar, Capital lounge, Queens night club, etc are all cool places to chill.

What advice would you give future students heading to Monrovia?

Be open-minded, accept the people and most importantly be patient.
