My trips to Milan
The introduction
Hello everyone, I hope that you are all doing just fine!
In this article I want to tell you about my experience in Milan and Italy and how amazing this trip was. Well, to tell you the truth, I was twice in Milan, so that it kind of makes me an experienced traveller in Milan. Though I haven’t really visited other cities and towns in Italy, I mean, I could see some of them from the train and the bus and things like that, however, I haven’t been there and walked there and looked at things, you know what I mean. I wanted to see the Veniceand I was going to, but then the plans changed and I decided to pay a visit to Venice some time later, when I would really enjoy the Venice experience, you know.
The first time I was in Milan was this college project week and we were on a mission there, you could say that, and the second time me and my friend went there just for fun and travelling experience by ourselves and it was kind of scary and, at the same time, an amazing experience. We were just two girls travelling for that distance by ourselves and we didn’t really know what would happen, of course and it was not something that you do every day, I mean, it was not like we were going to the supermarket or something. We were going roughly 400 kilometres away and that kind of distance is not something, that you should not pay attention to, you know.
Well, we had this thing there, when we had to prepare some project stuff and we would help some children and we had all these things scheduled, however, we also had some time to move around the city and see the stuff there and enjoy our trip to Milan and not just sit there in the hotel and study and write all those work and stuff like that, you know. Well, I was looking forward to seeing Milan and seeing all those things, which are necessary to see, you know, so that we went out as soon as we had a chance and went to sightsee the city and see plenty of beautiful things around.
First of all, I must say, that we just conquered the metro in Milan and went into and out of each of the metro station, I guess. The metro there is very comfortable and fast and efficient, and it’s a really great transport for moving around the city. However, it’s sad, that it’s underground and you can’t really sightsee the city with it, if you want to know the truth. However, when moving around the city, you should use the metro, because then you can get to your destination fast.
Duomo di Milano
The Cathedral of Milan is the symbol of Milan and is the largest cathedrals in Italy and in the whole Europe. This is a marvelous site, which everyone should see and one can not just visit Milan and not go to this place just to see it. The architecture is just amazing and the cathedral itself is really wonderful at night, when all those lights are lit and it seems like a miracle or something like that.
La Scala Opera
You should see the opera house in Milan, because it’s a historical place, where all those famous composers, including Rossini, Puccini, Verdi and Toscanini have played their things. It was built in 1778 and since then it has been there hosting all those famous and every other composers there. Though I haven’t been inside, I have seen it from the outside and it’s a marvelous building.
Arco della Pace
Well, this arch is like another symbol of Milan, if you want to know the truth. It was ordered to be built in 1807 in honour of Napoleon and it was not finished until 1838. It’s like a huge thing, which has many ornaments and is constructed really well, and then it has those four monuments of victorious men on horses and they are black in colour and the arch itself is white or something like that, which makes the pretty contrast there. It’s like a must see place in Milan, too, if you ask me.
Officine del Gelato Milano
If you love ice cream, then it’s time for visiting Gelato Milano, because if you love ice cream, it’s a must visit place for you. You will just want to eat everything there, because everything looks so delicious that you will have a hard time deciding which one to choose. Since you can’t really eat everything there, it’s not enough to pay just one visit there, of course. It’s a heaven for ice cream lovers, I must say!
