What is it like to live in Milan? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Even though Milan is a big globally renowned city, I didn't feel the city itself has a lot to offer. In fact outside the main city centre I felt like being in a small town. For students specially belonging to the fields of fashion, Milan can be a great choice.

How much does it cost to live in Milan?

The costs greatly depend upon the type of residence and the style of living. There are people who claimed that they could live in Milan for 400 Euros while some recommend as high as 900 Euros. So I would rather suggest having at least 500 Euros per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Milan? Is there any advice you can give?

Most of the students say that it has been difficult for them to find accommodation in Milan. So start your search as early as possible.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Pasta, pizza and gelato.

What places would you recommend visiting in Milan?

Milan Cathedral and better to go there in the early morning. It stands even magnificent in bright sunlight.

You can visit Bosco Verticale but that will take like 5 minutes.

Or you can visit Sfroza Castle. And near the Cathedral there is that famous Gallery called Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II that you should not skip while you are in Milan.

Is it good to eat out in Milan? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

You can find very good places near the Cathedral and that square. The prices would be higher though.

What advice would you give future students heading to Milan?

There are not a lot of places in Milan to see, in fact, most of the sites are located outside the city, it means you have plenty of time to focus on your studies. Just make a nice plan for weekends and other holidays and discover the glory of Italy.
