Why did you choose to go to Mikkeli, Finland?

Because I wanted to be far from french people ;) No, I chose Finland because I wanted to try the scandinavian way of life!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Scholarship was about 9 months. It was 345€ per month. I had to complete a little but was okay compare to the cost of being studying in France!

What is the student lifestyle like in Mikkeli?

It's great.
You have lectures and homework, but you have plenty of time to visit Finland and share experiences with other students, foreigners and Finnish students

Would you recommend the city and the University of Mikkeli to other students?

Sure!

What is the food like?

Not really remarkable ;) but Kosnikorva is great! And finnish cakes are great!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Mikkeli?

Was easy, I follow the university advices' and went to Moas, it's great cause every exchange student is living there!

How much does it cost to live in Mikkeli?

350€ for the rent, + food, and fun!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Mikkeli from your city?

Bus!

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Mikkeli?

Kharma!!!!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Mikkeli?

The turkish kebab!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

the opera, and the hockey stadium (for a match!)

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Mikkeli in the future?

I really enjoyed to be there for both winter and summer, try to stay there for both, it definitively worth it!
