What is it like to live in Maynooth? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Maynooth is a small student town and very costly.

What is the student lifestyle like in Maynooth?

Not too bad. There are places where you can go and have fun, but if you wanna go for a bigger choice, there are many buses going directly to Dublin and there are night lines to bring you back to Maynooth if you need them.

How much does it cost to live in Maynooth?

Usually, to rent a room it cost around 400 € per month. You will be very lucky if you would find something cheaper than that. The reasons for cheaper rent are: if you will work it out early enough, or just the quality of a place is very poor.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Maynooth? Is there any advice you can give?

It is very difficult to find accommodation, so if coming to Maynooth, you better organise your place to stay months before your arrival.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There is a good amount of places to eat like different types of restaurants and fast food places as well.

What places would you recommend visiting in Maynooth?

Maynooth is too small to recommend anything to visit, but if the weather is nice it is very pleasant to take a walk around the University campus or Carton House golf club.

Is it good to eat out in Maynooth? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My favourite places to eat are Twist Cafe, The Mill Coffee shop, Bistro 55 and Bagel factory in Manor Mills Shopping Centre.

Is the nightlife good in Maynooth? Where is good to go?

There is a night club called Mantra. And there is a club called The Roost with life music on Fridays and Saturdays night. There are also typical Irish bars like The Clock House or O'Neals if you would like to grab a drink and watch a match.

What advice would you give future students heading to Maynooth?

Maynooth is a small but charming and cozy place. The university (in my opinion) is the best in the world.
