As i promise you guys today i return sharing my second story from my erasmus experiences and i will try make it more detailed and add some funny things inside as well.

Malta - the island in the mediteranian

After i return from my first erasmus in Diyarbakir i have waited 2 years since i decided to apply for an erasmus placement, if you ask me why i waited so long well i truly thought that maybe i should give other students the oportunity to go with Erasmus, not steal the whole show lol.

So as i said it was 2013 and i signed up for placement, of course this meaning you can search for your own internship in European Union or places where you have or no partnership. In this case i had wrote a bunch of emails almost everywhere Europe and as i remember after not getting the answears i wanted, someone suggested me Malta, the island. So long shory short the deal was all set soon i will be in my flight to this amazing island i barely knew not much.

Couple of days before arriving there -interesting tips :

My university went through this company called Paragone Europe who is deaing with finding internships for students, so i got in contact with this company in order to find me something in Malta. As i was a tourism and geography student i was expecting maybe finding something in tourism agency, well what you think? they found me in a sort of rural eco bio farm, whatever that means lol...

Of course i was not pleased i said c'mon im better that this but after i went with the idea until this Paragone company started to charge me a lot of money prior my arrival, and when i say a lot of money i mean almost all my erasmus schoolarship. I knew something is wrong so in the last minute i told my coordinator let me go in Malta without this company and i will find there my own placement. Deal had happend. After 2 days i was in my first flight to ever on an island, Voila!

So i arrived on the island with my pink hair and all without no accomodation and no internship waiting for me, just me and Peter my good friend who will join me in this adventure for circa 8 months.

I started writing emails searchin rent, and guess what lucky me after 1 day i found this amazing women who wrote me back offering me and Peter her apartment to share. And the apartment was amazing actually it was a penthouse so we were all pleased. Rent we payed 300 euros each but i think is acceptable because Malta is not a cheap place, even if its a small island with like 300. 000 people. As i heard they are all rich there, a bit like Monaco if i had to compare.

We were all set in our 'condo' and starting to search for a job meaning internship. Went like one week nobody contacted us when this women on her name Lynn a 30 something single mom with 2 children also living with us had this great idea... she was like you know guys i work in a real estate company actually The Real Estate no 1 in Malta, and i know sometimes they take interns there helping around. So the thing hit us This is It!

After couple of days we were working for Simon Mamo real estate best one on the island, of course no paycheck because we were erasmus lol. Work was fun many students there with erasmus from Spain, Germany, Lithuania and France always coming and going.

This was the crew, oh boy we had fun, good times :)

my best friend in Malta, Neringa from Lithuania also working for Simon Mamo.

Moving on, the work was not hard and best thing about it was i had to do what i love, i always had a thing for journalism. So we had to write blogs, articles, social media all typed of events, work with properties. I have learned many things.

Of course after a while money was tight between rent and surviving, so thru somebody in the company we got a part time job, me and Peter as well, it was for a big toy store, working in trying to build a website for online shopping.

So this is were the first money came from. We got a paycheck every friday, around 200euros, i know very low but this guy hired us without contract nothing and we were working just 4 hours Mon-Fri. So around 800euros per month seemed fine in order to eat and party.

The schedule was damn buys, from 9 to 3 at Simon Mamo and from 3 to 7 Toy store shop. Arriving home we were knock down if you know what i mean. But the still had the weekends to travel around and sit in the beach.

Near Malta there is a small island called Gozo where u can arrive by ferry circa 30 minutes, so i was spending almost all my weekdays there at my new boyfriends house.

Most of the free times i was spending in the beach, now the most amazing beach is called The Riviera and Lord Jesus is breathtaking.

The city of Popeye, touristic sight

The best place to party in Malta is this street called Paceville, they have a lot of clubs, bars, lounges and nice things one side to another. Thins went crazy there night after night.

Of course maltese food i didnt try to much because im not into meat or complicated food. But they have every corner of street nice bakery like apple, chicken pie, pizzas which are amazing and all sort of yummies.

Shopping area is amazing with nice malls finding luxury brands to Hard Rock Cafe my favourite place with exhibitions of Michael Jacksons items, Elvis, Mick Jagger and many more.

When the adventure came to and end after 8 months, somehow i felt a relief because i could take a break from all the hard work daily and rest. But also in a way i didnt wanted to return home.
