What is it like to live in Malaga? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Malaga is one of the warmest city in Europe with 300 sunny days per year. It's a beautiful city full of culture and turistic atractions. It's the best place in Andalusia, cause it's in the center between Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba, Nerja, Cadiz, Gibraltar and you can visit all those cities during your staying in Malaga.

What is the student lifestyle like in Malaga?

People in Malaga have very relaxed style of life, there is no rush and you can see that they enjoy every day.

How much does it cost to live in Malaga?

Except an accommodation (which can cost between 150 - 300 euros), it shouldn't cost you more then 400 euros per month and that is with trips and other activities like restaurants or cinema.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Malaga? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it's not but Spanish language is very helpful in that case. Near from universities you can find many flats that you can share with other students which makes it cheaper and more fun.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Spain is very famous for tapas which are small typical dishes, usually each costs 1, 5 euro so during one meal you can try many different things. Malaga being a coast city has a wide range of fresh fish and sea food. I also recommend trying paella, gazpacho, tortilla de patatas and of course tinto de verano.

What places would you recommend visiting in Malaga?

Malaga is the city of Picasso so there is no doubt you have to see the museum of Picasso. Other places would be: Alcazaba, Cathedral, Roman Theatre. A walk from calle Larios to Plaza de la Merced will show you all historic part of the city and many good shops.

Is it good to eat out in Malaga? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's really good to eat out in Malaga but I recommend to avoid all very turistic restaurants and bars. Always choose places full of Spanish with old Spanish style, in those bars you will eat the best and much cheaper.

Is the nightlife good in Malaga? Where is good to go?

Malaga is a perfect place for clubbing. All best discos are located in the center walking distance from each other so in one night you can visit them all and on the way get vouchers for free drinks.

What advice would you give future students headed to Malaga?

If you like sun, fun and Spanish culture Malaga is the best choice for you. Being in Malaga I recommend travelling a lot around Andalusia, learn salsa or flamenco and to enjoy all that special city offers!
