Why did you choose to go to Malaga, Spain?

I was doing a placement with the British Council and only got to choose Andalucía as my choice, but I was thrilled to find out I was placed in Málaga. I'd been to Mijas the summer before and I loved it! I had such an amazing time in Málaga and would recommend spending your Erasmus placement there!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My placement was 9 months from October until May. The Erasmus+ grant really helped when the Junta were late in paying me.

What is the student lifestyle like in Malaga?

I was working as an English Language teacher so I didn't actually live the full student lifestyle, I did have student friends and they enjoyed being a student in Málaga.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Malaga to other students?

I was working as an English Language assistant so unfortunately I can't say much for the university.

What is the food like?

The food was great, lots of places to choose from with lots of different cuisines.

Yes, although I was living with a lovely spanish family in the centre so it was worth it.

How much does it cost to live in Malaga?

Difficult to say - it depends on how much your rent is and how much you spend on food, going out and travelling.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I'm sure there would be courses, I found an intercambio partner through a friend so it was easy to practice the language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Malaga from your city?

Plane - I could get a direct flight to Málaga.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Malaga?

Start in the centre at a bar and see where the night takes you.

The restaurants next to the Teatro Romano were lovely as was the view.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Teatro Romano, Alcazaba and there are lots of free museums in the city.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Malaga in the future?

Take every opportunity to make the most of your trip!
