I ate best Ramen ever in Madrid
About Madrid, I found that it is cheaper than Barcelona in terms of food, drink and entertainment. Puerta Del Sol was the first place I met. It is touristic and crowded city. I met lots of South American. Local people over 30s do not usually speak English or they are not so good. However, new generation is good at it. Also sometimes I tried to ask question to policemen in English and all of them spoke very well. On the other hand, I know Spanish in beginner level and I survived very easy. Puerta Del Sol has either the most expensive or the cheapest places to eat and drink. I am an addict of Japanese culture and Udon Restaurant in Sol served me the best Ramen I have ever eaten.
The subway network is very succesful. You can move to almost any direction. People are friendly. In the airport, I asked a man "how can I go to Sol"; he came with me to Sol just to be sure of my destination ended up correct, then he went home. So, do not be shy to ask something, they like to help you (at least I have seen it)
Santiago Barnebau Stadium has subway gates, so again it is easy to visit. It is more than a stadium, it is a giant museum. You are gonna be surprised when you explore it.
