What is it like to live in Madrid? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

For me, it’s the perfect city to live in and offers something for everyone. It’s a city for all different types of people. There are just as many things to do for people who prefer the calmer approach to life as there are for those who can’t sit still.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Personally, I love it. There are so many places to have fun and just as many places to study quietly. It’s a city that gives you the opportunity to work hard and party even harder.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Like in any place, it really depends on which part of the city you are in. But in general it’s not expensive. If you budget well you can live relatively cheaply.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madrid? Is there any advice you can give?

I live with people I know so I don’t have any problems with accommodation. But, if you are new to the area, I'd recommend ‘La Zona de Moncloa’, ‘Ciudad Universitaria’ or ‘Guzmán el Bueno’... these are the places where you’ll find the real university atmosphere.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It’s amazing! There aren't any bizarre dishes and everyone loves the local food. My favourite dish would have to be ‘Jamón Serrano’, haha.

What places would you recommend visiting in Madrid?

I'd recommend the city centre, El Retiro and the Old Town.

Is it good to eat out in Madrid? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I really don’t know which one to pick.

Is the nightlife good in Madrid? Where is good to go?

I'd recommend ‘La Zona de Alonso Martínez’ or ‘La Calle Huertas’ if you want bars and clubs like ‘Kapital’ or ‘El Antiguo Pachaa’.

What advice would you give future students heading to Madrid?

Come with the intention of having an absolutely amazing time.
