What is it like to live in Madrid? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I love the endless sunshine. It is a fun city, plenty to do and very close to the mountains. The new river park is great for walking. Wonderful shops and fantastic fresh food.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Partying constantly.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

It is cheapest to live here in Spain in comparison to the UK. The wages are low though.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madrid? Is there any advice you can give?

It has got more difficult to find accomodation the past 2 years. But I live just across the river and prices are less expensive here. Everyone wants to live in the centre so there is a lot of competition.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I don't like fish so it is difficult sometimes. I like pigs cheeks and "rabo de toro". I also like the "cocidos" and stews. Italian and Indian kitchen are my preferences when eating out.

• Both Madrids football stadiums are popular

Train trips to Arajuez, Cercidilla and the mountains.

Is it good to eat out in Madrid? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It is very popular to eat out here in some very nice little bars. My favourite area is Lavapies, where the Indian restaurants are and C/Argumosa is popular.

Is the nightlife good in Madrid? Where is good to go?

I'm too old for clubbing much these days but there are many many places to go out. Bars stay open late, the more obscure the bars the more fun they can be. C/Huertas is full of trendy bars but the whole city is buzzing with nightlife.
