Experience in Madrid, Spain by María
What is it like to live in Madrid? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Madrid is the most comfortable city to live in. You can find everything within a nice distance ( not as huge as London or Paris). Transport works perfect and it will take you to anywhere in the city and surroundings.
As it is the capital of our country, you can find typical food from the north, south... There are so many restaurants and pubs you can go to.
I really recommend taking a walk in Malasaña or Chueca, typical neibourghoods and very fun and interesting.. There are so many things to discover everyday in Madrid: museums, temporary expositions, hidden places... You can't be bored in Madrid.
What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?
The student lifestyle is so entertaining in Madrid. It can sometimes be expensive but you have to know where to go. "Lizarran" or "El tigre" offer cheap beer and food. "Penalti bar", "+Kopas" offer cheap drinks... you just have to try all the clubs we have and you'll find such a variety you don't have to be twice in the same place.
How much does it cost to live in Madrid?
It is way cheaper than London or Paris.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madrid? Is there any advice you can give?
I dont know because i live here but a good way to find it is at http://www.easypiso.com.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food in Madrid is varied and delicious. You can find any knids of food from all over the world but also from all over Spain: the food form the south (Andalucia) has nothing to do with the food from the north (Galicia).
