What is it like to live in Madrid? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Madrid is living in a cosmopolitan and modern city where you can find whatever you want just looking in the right place.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Madrid has a huge campus for students situated in Ciudad Universitaria and it has most of the main important faculties where you can study.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

It depends on the area you choose to live. It can be really expensive if you go to Guzman el bueno- Moncloa, barrio de salamanca, arturo soria, but it is also possible to find more economocal prices in Arguelles, Valdebernardo.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madrid? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not easy, but not really hard. The best is to go to an house agency, or if you prefer you can go on your own looking in the internet or in the windows, because in some of them , there is information about renting.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There is a wide spanish traditional dishes around the capital, though you can find easily food from all over the world. My favourite dishes are tortilla española, salmorejo, cocido madrileño, every tapa would be good with a good wine.

What places would you recommend visiting in Madrid?

Apart from the typical ones like Retiro, El Prado, Gran Vía, Sol... you can go to the Templo Debob to observe the egiptian tradition, Matadero(near atocha and next to madrid rio), Chueca and Malasaña, different neighbours to the rest of the city, or Arturo Soria that it is a residential house, where you will find that you escape to the fast rythm of the city.

Is it good to eat out in Madrid? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it is pretty good, you have a lot of chances to different prices, from Chistu, El asador donostiarra, that are more famous, to other less well known but good too.

Is the nightlife good in Madrid? Where is good to go?

Totally, there are parties almost everywhere in weekends, and in no weekend days you also have good places to go. It is good that you go to the Huertas Street near Sol where you can go into pubs without paying. You also can go out around Tribunal, Chueca, Malasaña, Moncloa, Sol, Atocha...

What advice would you give future students heading to Madrid?

The best advice it is to open their mind to meet new people from all over the world, and enjoy the best things about the city with friends because you will like more, Shared, life is better. You also must find time to study, and you can go to one of the libraries of Madrid, it is totally free to connect to the internet too, in contrast with other cities like amsterdam where you have to pay.
