What is it like to live in Madrid? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Madrid is a very dynamic city, very energetic. I definetely enjoy living here. I am a very active person and you could easily find many things to do both for fun and for work. The city could be a little bit disapointing when visiting for a weekend for example. You really start to like it when you are here for a few weeks.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Student lifestyle is awesome. There is always a party somewhere. People are easygoing and universities make you feel great in the classroom and in the general environment.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

That depends. Transport is cheaper when you are under 23 and the cost of accomodation varies, but usually it's affordable to rent an apartment, share a flat or live in universities residences. The cost of living in general is low, and big supermarket chains have always discounts and good prices.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madrid? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not really difficult. Universities usually help you with the accomodation, if not you can easily look for "inmobiliarias" and look for a flat, or just in the university ads to share a room.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are any kind of restaurant in Madrid, food would not really be an issue. From typical tapas to chinese, a great offer.

What places would you recommend visiting in Madrid?

All the city center, the most important monuments, "El rastro", etc. And in the nearby Alcala de Henares, Aranjuez, Guadarrama etc.

What advice would you give future students heading to Madrid?

Relax, you'll enjoy your stay
