What is it like to live in Madrid? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Madrid is a lovely city. You would have loads to do, from partying hard every single day of the week, to wandering around its parks, museums and streets, eating at terraces everywhere on the weekends and enjoying its people.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

You have to really study hard, but also when you don't have to, you can party every single night of the week. Transport is great and you can go everywhere by Metro, Cercanias Renfe or bus.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Around 800-1000€/month, depending on your flat rent.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madrid? Is there any advice you can give?

Not easy but lots of options for students. Moncloa is best for Ciudad Universitaria campus or any other place not in a campus. If your campus is on the outskirts, I recommend staying somewhere closer to the centre with Metro or Cercanias Renfe station with good communication to your campus.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is very good, not pricey in supermarkets (fruit, vegetables, meat, fish... ).

What places would you recommend visiting in Madrid?

Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Museum, Retiro Park, etc. But mainly walking around the streets. Public transport is great.

Is it good to eat out in Madrid? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, very good. You can eat everywhere and will find good food almost in every place. You will eat better in old restaurants even if they look a little grubby. Go to the city centre (Latina, Lavapiés, Malasaña, Chamberí).

Is the nightlife good in Madrid? Where is good to go?

It's the best. Areas for not fancy but cheap and fun are Moncloa, Sol, Malasaña, etc. So many places. Also fancy discos open till 6 am (Bling bling, Le Boutique, Kapital,... ).

Blend in with spanish people, you will have the best time and truly enjoy life in Madrid. Also use public transport, it's great.
