Why did you choose to go to Madrid, Spain?

It's the capital city.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

For almost 4 months. Around 1500€.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

A lot of partying, sometimes irresponsible, a lot of travelling opportunities.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Madrid to other students?

Yes, if you're looking for a big city with a lot of movement and a lot of partying (accademic quality in particular subjects isn't very high).

What is the food like?

Delicious if you like ham and cheese.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?

It took me almost a month, so if time considers money, then yes.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Around 400-450€ for the rent and at least 400€ for living.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, and Spanish isn't very hard to learn. Most of the Spanish people doesn't speak English.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Madrid from your city?

Plane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Madrid?

Downtown, when it's lighted up, also some bars or night clubs (there are a lot of them).

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Museums, a lot of them, also the Temple Debod for the view, and the Retiro Park, as well as the Prado Museum with its surroundings, La Latina for the alleys and the old town feeling, the Lavapies for the Indian cuisine.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Madrid in the future?

Keep aware of your things because of the pickpocketing. Have a look at all the famous sights and walk around the alleys in the center, go out for partying in the middle of the week, go for a long walk or a picnic in Retiro park, walk around downtown, which si full of bars and restaurants.
