Why did you choose to go to Madrid, Spain?

I choose Madrid for many different reasons. Many friends recommended it as an international and cool city especially for students. I also chose it because I was attracted by the program of my University.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Fun, the people are nice and it is easy to get around and cheap to live in. The city is beautiful and the weather is amazing.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Madrid to other students?

For sure.

What is the food like?

You can find any kind of food you like. Many places are not expensive so it is easy to grab a bite wherever. Spanish food is very tasty and good.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?

No.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Not much, it is very cheap.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes. Spanish is very easy to understand and everyone speaks English.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Madrid from your city?

Airplane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Madrid?

Any club is nice and fun. The restaurants are also fun because most of them have music, and are always full of life and people. Even a rooftop and a drink is a fun way to enjoy a night out with friends.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Madrid?

I recommend El Patio del Fisgon, Marieta, Lateral, La Maruca, Ornella, Forte, and many others.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

El parque del Retiro, El templo de Debod, Gran Via, Plaza del Sol, Malasana, Puerta de Alcala and the Museums.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Madrid in the future?

The more you explore around, the better. Madrid is not a big city and it is easy to get to know all of it and do fun activities, like going to the stadium Bernabeu. People are friendly and this city never sleeps! It will be an amazing experience for anyone.
