you can explore the city after your class and there are lots of erasmus studens who you can meet and hang out together

I recommend the city absolutely! Everyone should see Madrid!

What is the food like?

Spanish people food times are different but u can get used to it

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?

yes I stayed a hostel 10 days until I found a place to live

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

depends on the people but its not an expensive city

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

yes there are available. people don't speak english besides university. u should prepare yourself to learn a little bit spanish before you come

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Madrid from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Madrid?

there are lots of places to go

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Madrid?

tapas is always cheap and you should try a small pizza restaurant at sol

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

you should see the museums

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Madrid in the future?

learn spanish as much as you can there is a very cheap course at Sol. and travel all around spain! you can use easyjet and ryanair.. enjoy :)
