Why did you choose to go to Madrid, Spain?

Firstly I've chosen Spain, because it seemed to me a the best place to spend the summertime - at once enjoying the summer and working during practice. Why Madrid? Because I know many people that have been there already and they really recommended this city and also it is the capital and it is very famous. Moreover I'm a Real Madrid supporter so it was pleasure for me to live in Madrid for last 3 months.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I had a scholarship for 3 months - 400e per month. It is not enaugh to live in Madrid, because flats may be quite expensive. I think that you need at least 600e for one month to live in good conditions and don't worry about your budget so much.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Madrid to other students?

Of course, I recommend it in 100%. You will not regret.

What is the food like?

The food is quite good. I'm from Poland so I have another sense of taste than Spanish people but anyway I like it. The best food for me was tapas :)

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?

Accommodation in Madrid is not very cheap (200-300e for a single room in suburbs).

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Around 600e per month including flat payment

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Madrid from your city?

The best way to travel is to travel by plane I think - quick and incomparably price to traveling by bus

Where would you recommend going on a night out in Madrid?

Center of the city like Callao, Plaza de Espana, Sol, etc.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Madrid?

I don't remember the names but there is one nice place with tapas near Plaza Mayor. But also there are many places in the center where you can find good traditional dishes.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Prado Museum, Santiago Bernabeu, Botanic garden, Parqe de Retiro. Those are examples but there is more of them

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Madrid?

Don't take many long clothes for summer because probably you will not need them. Sun cream may be also important because the sun is really strong during summer.
