Why did you choose to go to Madrid, Spain?

My close friend did her PhD at University Carlos III in Madrid and she liked it. She lived there for three years or so and she recommended me to choose Madrid over Paris where I first wanted to go.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I did only one semester there. I had enough money to live comfortably.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Students are really friendly at least from my experience. Since Madrid is more and more international city I met friends from different countries which made my experience better.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Madrid to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

Okay I guess...

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?

No I was staying with my friend.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Living expenses are high but if you know how to use your money effectively and not spend too much it's ok.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I already knew Spanish... I guess that they do have courses but I didn't use any courses.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Madrid from your city?

By plane with Wizz Air.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Parque del Retiro, King's palaceand Prado Museum.
