Why did you choose to go to Madrid, Spain?

I chose Madrid because I wanted to experience Spanish culture and particularly to experience the capital.

What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?

Madrid is a city which has, both, depending on what you are looking for, a luxurious lifestyle, made of living in expensive parts of the city and going to places that are touristic and cost money, and, on the other hand, a very budget friendly accomodations for students without counting the fact that there are many ways to enjoy Madrid without spending a fortune.

What is the food like?

One of the Spanish culture's highlights is its gastronomy - prepare to eat a lot and try tasty tapas and wines at every corner.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?

It is very hard to find a good and affordable accommodation in Madrid, so I would strongly suggest to start looking on time. This means months in advance. I took a risk and was lucky, but many people around me have gone through a struggle before finding a place.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It would be easier for you to have at least basic Spanish before you come, than start with it here because you will probably get caught up in school schedule and many thing Madrid is offering. My University doesn't offer language courses but there is a lot of private schools you can enroll in.
