Why did you choose to go to Madrid, Spain?
I chose Madrid because I was attracted from the spanish language and the country.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My erasmus program is being 5 months long. I received 230 euro, too little to live in any country.
What is the student lifestyle like in Madrid?
Interesting.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Madrid to other students?
Of course! Madrid is wonderful! In Madrid you can find everything! In Madrid missing only the sea to be perfect, but you can do without it. Any kind of person can find his space in Madrid. You can be what you want, you can change every day, discover and try new things. There are arts, funs, foods, musics, people of each type. And spanish people have a so simple way to have fun: just a "botellon", a street to sit and some good friends. I love Madrid, I leave my heart in Madrid.
What is the food like?
I'm italian, so for me food is really important, and spanish food is not so bad. Tortillas was really great, and also bocadillos!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Madrid?
Too much.
How much does it cost to live in Madrid?
Life is not so expensive.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
For me was easy learn spanish, maybe because I really like it and is really similar to italian.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Madrid from your city?
El coche compartido! Or by bus.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Madrid?
Malasana, El templo del Debod, Kapital, Factory, Plaza Sant'ana, El Joy....
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Madrid?
El mercado de san miguel, Indian restaurant in Lava pies, some bar in Malasana, Tapas en La Latina
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Reina sofia, a theatre performance in opera theatre, el rastro...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Madrid in the future?
Go. Enjoy the trip. Don't think.
