Would you recommend the city and the University of Madrid to other students?

I would not recommend the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid if you really want to live the Erasmus life. Too many tests and essays that just will not let you unwind.

What is the food like?

Garlic everywhere, no salt, many sauces.

How much does it cost to live in Madrid?

Hard to find something cheap and good. A bunch of people living together and paying at least 250 euros.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are available courses at the University, but not for free. Yet, if you know the basics, you will not need them.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Madrid in the future?

Stay near the centre so you can have a ride back home and prefer to visit the city during warm months.
