The perfect Flat in Madrid! (Lavapies)

Last year, I booked a room in a shared flat at Uniplaces in the neigbourhood ''Lavapiés'' in Madrid.

The most funny thing was, that the name of the street was, Calle dos Hermanas'' which means, Street two sisters'' in spanish. And I have two sisters! What a funny coincidence! Eventhough the housenumber was a number, which is seen as ''bad luck'' number among superstitious people, I had very big luck to live in this flat!

Since I was a child, I always was very interested in biology and nature. Sadly, in a big city, there is not much nature.

The biological topic I am interested the most is mycology. The science of mashrooms. There are alot different kind of mashrooms. For example ascomycota or zygomycota. For those of you, who don't know much about mashrooms. Molds for exemple are a type of ascomycota or zygomycota.

And in this flat, I had so much luck to live my passion. No matter where I went, the walls were full of mold. So many different kind of molds! For exemple green molds, white molds or the very rare and toxic black mold. The flat smelled rotting, like a beautiful forest in the autumn after rain. And the walls were wet and cold, like if you live in a beautiful mut hut! This was a true adventure!

But i was abit afraid. I really care about the health of mashrooms. And I though living in a flat with such a biological diversity is not good... for the mushrooms. So I told the flatowner, that I want to leave the flat to save this beautiful and diverse mold flora. But she said, there is no way that I leave the flat. Because I signed a contract for nearly one year. And if I leave earlier, i have to pay for the rest of the months where I don't live there anymore.

I din't really agreed with that. So I contacted Uniplaces and told them about this wonderfull biological specrtum of molds in all colors of the rainbow and sended them a few photos. I told them that I don't think that people should live in this flat anymore, because it should be a nature reserve. But they just ignored me and when I wrote about this little rainforest on my wall in my bedroom, they deleted my flat review.

I think that is really mean! Why do they not want ohter people to know about this beauty and mycology wonder? Sadly they still rent the flat to people. Instead of making it to a nature reserve for mold, like I told them.

But anyways, living in this flat it was a great adventure. I had the unique possibility to watch mold grow every day and see it bloom in all states of their moshroomy live. Some even looked like a cute purry kitten fur! very cute!

I guess in this months living in this flat, I collected more experiences in mycology than everyone who studied in university! Eventhough I have asthma now, but this was totally worth it! What am I lucky! I hope this time, my flat review is nice enough, that it doesn't gets censored.

Here a few fotos of my beautiful flat:
