Why did you choose to go to Maastricht, Netherlands?

Great University.

Beautiful town full of students from all over the world.

It is in a great geographical situation to travel around Europe.

What is the student lifestyle like in Maastricht?

Interesting and challenging classes during the week. It is possible that you might only have classes two days a weak, so you get lots of free time (some of it is meant to be used for school work, the rest you can travel and party with your international friends. )

It is a small town, so it is very easy to get to know it and feel comfortable in it. After class you can go shopping downtown or go take a walk in the great parks around the university campus.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Maastricht to other students?

Maastricht is a beautiful small city, the architecture is amazing and they have some traditions like the carnival or the Christmas market, for this there is always an unique atmosphere.

The University of Maastricht is very well recognised around Europe, so if you are a person that wants to have an awesome time and keep learning at the same time it is a great choice. The University is pretty tough, you have to do daily reading and be prepared for every class, once you are used to the routine it is easy to combine studying and partying/travelling.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Maastricht?

It is very easy for international students to find housing at the Guest House. I recommend to live there since it is located near the University (5 min bike ride) and you can get downtown in another 5 min bike ride. It is also very close to the supermarket.

The rooms are well equipped and very comfortable.

Since everyone is international it is very easy to make friends at the Guest House, you will get to know basically everyone that is on an Erasmus in Maastricht and you will end up living with friends.

How much does it cost to live in Maastricht?

Housing around 400/500 euros.
