What is the student lifestyle like in Maastricht?

Maastricht is really confortable for students.University is close to the centre, there are enough libraries and study centres,together with pubs and place to share ideas or just have fun.However,studying is pretty important and also challenging.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Maastricht to other students?

Yes, of course. Just be sure that you want to study, not just have fun.

What is the food like?

I'm Italian, so there is no comparison at all! :) however every kind of food is available and there are different supermarkets, with different prices. In general I found food a bit more expensive than in Italy

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Maastricht?

Yes, it is not easy and prices are really high! I was lucky to find a place close to the centre and the university with a reasonable price.

How much does it cost to live in Maastricht?

Much more than in Italy.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are dutch courses available, but almost everyone speaks a good English

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Maastricht from your city?

By plane to Bruxelles and then by train to Maastricht.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Maastricht?

City centre is full of great Pub and discos, there are also some show in the theatre or 3 different cinemas.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Maastricht?

The dutch ones with typical food are pretty good. Dadaiwan near the trainstation has great asian food.The best pizza is the one from "Piano b".

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The cathedral and other churches.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Maastricht in the future?

Enjoy the city!
