What is it like to live in Lusaka? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

lusaka is full of lovely people who are willing to help if you are lost or in need of some information. It has a very homey feel and you never feel out of place. There are many natural sites 40 minutes out of the city in Kafue, where you can have nice boat rides andd see a few animals.The weather is perfect in Lusaka, even in the winter it almost never goes below 10 degrees Celsius.

How much does it cost to live in Lusaka?

living in Lusaka for someone from a western country can be considered very cheap.monthly rent in a good residential area ranges from 100-500 dollars for a full apartment, but if you want a luxurious place to stay it will cost you 210-2700 dollars per week.
Food is very affordable, from as low as 60 cents(street food) to 20-25 dollars(restaurant food).
transport: the mini buses cost 30-80 cents depending on how far you are going,a taxi costs 3-25 dollars depending on how far you are going.

Is it good to eat out in Lusaka? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

depending on your budget I suggest you definitely eat out, you can get local meals at any restaurant,make sure you try Nshima with beef and Lumanda or okra. When in Lusaka visit mint lounge,it's café at acacia park with some amazing smoothies.

Is the nightlife good in Lusaka? Where is good to go?

there's almost always something going on, and Wednesday is ladies night in most clubs. Ladies usually have an advantage for entrance fees at all parties, if you need a place to go just check your facebook you will definitely find something. Chicago's at Mandahill is nice place to go and you will definitely be safe there.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lusaka?

make as many friends as you can, if you like to party or just don't want to be bored in Lusaka,you will do yourself some good by making friends. Usually there's parties nearly every weekend somewhere but they are not usually advertise so you have to know people. There isn't too much to do in Lusaka so you will definitely have time to study and focus on your degree.
