Why did you choose to go to Lublin, Poland?

Because it offers good European studies, in which you can study in English in a good university without spending a fortune. This differs to other universities in European countries where you can only study a degree in the language of the country.

How long does the grant last? How much financial help do you receive?

5 months. You get 200€ per month plus an extra 100€ if the year before you benefitted from the MEC grant. You receive 80% of the total amount during the 3 months that you’re in the country and the rest when you return to your country.

What’s the student life like in Lublin?

For those who like to party it’s really good, those who are really thinking of coming to study had better look for a flat and stay away from the Erasmus residences and buildings.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Lublin to other students?

Of course, the way they handle things is unbeatable and they help you with everything.

What’s the food like in the country?

Personally I loved it, it’s cheap and really good, so I’d advise you to be careful, in two months I gained 5 kilos haha.

Did you struggle to find accommodation in Lublin?

No because I reserved an Erasmus residence, in my case the worst thing you can do, now I’m looking for a flat and to be honest if you don’t know anybody who speaks Polish it’ll be very complicated.

What is the cost of living in Lublin?

Between 100 and 200€ for an individual room, bills included.

10€ a month for public transport.

Between 40 and 70€ a week on food.

How is the language? Did you take a course at university?

Yes, I started a course but as soon as I began I stopped, it’s quite difficult, but it seems a good investment, because those who learn this language will be able to learn any other language that they want.

What’s the best way to get to Lublin from your city?

Seville-Madrid (low-cost airline) 20€

Madrid-Warsaw Modling 50€

Airport-centre (bus) 6€

Warsaw central station-Lublin 5€ with a student card

Where would you recommend to party in Lublin?

Everywhere that there is, it won’t be difficult to get to know them once you’re here.

And to eat in Lublin? Can you list your favourite places?

I’ve eaten in all of the restaurants in the old town and honestly I couldn’t choose just one.

And for a cultural trip?

The castle, the old town underground trail, the concentration camp.

Any advice for future students in Lublin?

That they don’t go too wild, as there are people who seem like they’ve never left their house in their lives. Always be careful and think about what you’re doing, drinking vodka more than 3 times a week for a year does severe damage to the stomach, which the majority of students either don’t know or don’t care about.
