Why did you choose to go to London, UK?
Because I wanted to improve my English and I love London as a city.
How long did the grant last? How much help did you receive?
I got €4, 400, and the grant is for 9 months. With this amount you can live here for 3 months.
What is the student life like in London?
It's really good. The universities organise loads of activities and it's impossible not to socialise. Also, they the student's opinion into account a lot more.
Would you recommend the city and the University of London to other students?
Yes, totally. London offers all kinds of activities for tonnes of different tastes. It's very well connected in terms of travelling not only inside the UK, but also cheaply and quickly to Europe or other continents.
How is the food?
British cuisine doesn't have a very good reputation. Scottish cuisine is better, and the British is based on potatoes. It's good to go and try the food sometimes, but the majority of people here eat junk food everyday. However, in supermarkets you can find other, more healthy things to eat.
Did you find it difficult finding accommodation in London?
My university offered me accommodation, although there are loads of websites for private housing that offer the same services for similar prices.
How much does it cost to live in London?
If you live in normal conditions, around €1, 200 a month. That's for living in a housing facility, spending money on transport, food and going out. There are other cheaper options like sharing a flat with lots of people or living on the outskirts.
How did you find the language? Did you go to a course at the university?
I study translation, so I didn't have a problem. Anyway the accent isn't that hard, it's just a matter of getting a grip of it.
What is the most economic way of getting to London from your city?
Plane.

What about eating in London? Can you tell us your favourite places?
Bella Italia, Pizza Express...
And for cultural trips?
There's tonnes of museums, churches, and monuments like Big Ben to visit. No matter how long you spend in London, there will always be something that you haven't seen.
Is there any advice you would like to give to future students in Brighton?
Come here and enjoy yourselves because no other city is as beautiful and diverse as London.
