Money transfer wisdom
Money is funny…
So you’re in a country using another currency with another bank account, facing another complication, shall we say? There are more than 10 currencies used in the European Union and we’ve gotta move money around to pay rent and buy some groceries (eggs being on the top of my list).
So what misadventure did I get up to?
What I did was look around the internet for where to go to get the best exchange rates in London. Getting a couple more cents per £1 matters, especially when we’re talking about changing money in the thousands. I found a Central London bureau, which required me to travel via London Underground every time. Additionally, I have to also take trips to my French bank, carrying way too much cash in any handbag. I now ask myself why I wasted money and time – where was my happy ending?
What the smarter half do in this situation:
Not only do you get better exchange rates with TransferWise, but personally, I feel more secure too. In reality, we won’t have to go through all the trouble to run around and go through numerous ID verifications again and again and this website gives us the best possible rates I’ve seen available anywhere for bank-to-bank money transfers. Just look at this comparison spreadsheet I’ve made (£ to €).

Happy ending!
