What is it like to live in London? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is very diverse in culture with many different nationalities from all around the world. It's a great city and plenty to see and do cost effectively for a student. Saturday mornings are great to visit the famous Portobello market or the Camden market on a Sunday. Friendly city but like every city you have to be careful and vigilant.

What is the student lifestyle like in London?

Although hard for a student it can be fun. I have a relative here from the US on an internship living in Central London and he absolutely loves being here.

How much does it cost to live in London?

Living in London is expensive. Food shopping supermarkets like Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons and Tesco offer good value, also for lunch time snacks.

Take into account the rent (variable related to the area you live inclusive of bills) food, transport etc. For e. g Northwood (greater London in zone 6) £450 per month inc bills, wi-fi, etc. Plus transport and food another £250 per month approximately, can be less.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in London? Is there any advice you can give?

It can be hard finding clean decent accommodation at a reasonable rent.

However, if you go towards Greater London (zones 5 and 6) rents are more affordable. Transport is cheaper with an Oyster card and more then makes up for the extortionate rents in the centre of London.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

London has cuisines from all around the world, so the choice of food is vast. Food is good here.

I love all kinds of dishes my favorite is a stone cooked Rib eye steak with a good red wine.

Is it good to eat out in London? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

My suggestion would be if eating out look for Groupon and Ncrowd deals by subscribing to them. My favorite places are Prezzo (subscribe to their newsletter to get 25% off), El Toro (Argentinian), Cafe Rouge
